It's here already, the end of summer. Like, it's actually happening as we speak. It's weird enough that Labor Day is just a smidge later this year, and I'm already thinking it's fall. The past few months I kept saying to myself "well once summer starts I'll do this, this, and this" and now that September is here I'm thinking "I should really have my North Face dry cleaned." Maybe it's because I love fall and winter more, but I feel like, for us Northeastern-ers, or Mid Atlantic-ers, that Summer 2009 just kind of crept by unannounced with only a few weeks of unbearable humidity sprinkled here and there.
So now I keep thinking about all of the things I wanted to accomplish this summer that I didn't, the least of which was to nail down my thesis topic for school. But more importantly you guys, I HAVEN'T BEEN TO THE JERSEY SHORE AT ALL, not even once. (I am going for two days next weekend, but by then, it's no longer official shore season). And I still haven't gotten a chance to read Lauren Conrad's "novel," L.A. Candy, (which, for some reason, I have really been looking forward to reading). Most importantly though, I fear that I haven't eaten enough ice cream in the past couple of months.
I know a few people who would beg to differ with that last statement. We keep Turkey Hill light ice cream in the house on a constant basis, and Capogiro and I are great friends. But let me be completely up front with you: I eat (the same brands of) ice cream a lot. Sometimes as dinner. Or lunch. Or both. That's because ice cream happens to be my favorite food, hands down. There's something that happens to me when eating it; I go into this dream-like state where no one else exists or matters (except maybe Rupert Grint and Robert Pattinson). It's just me and ice cream against the world. The photos below help illustrate:
The top pic is me in that trance-like state I mentioned. The bottom, well, let me see if I can translate: "back up off my ice cream, bitch." Yeah that's pretty much it.

To alleviate this, I hereby declare Labor Day weekend 2009 an official "ice cream free-for-all weekend." I may just have ice cream for breakfast, lunch, and dinner all three days.
I hope everyone has a great mini-break!
